My coaching philosophy is deeply rooted in my passion for running and a genuine understanding of the challenges runners face. I know that making the most of our training time is essential, but I also believe in the importance of truly enjoying the journey of running!
Success in this sport is about more than just improvements; it requires consistency, patience, and a balanced perspective on training, which are at the core of my coaching approach. These principles can significantly enhance your enjoyment of running and help you perform better, regardless of your age, ability, or background.
I want you to feel completely at ease as we work together. The training we design will be tailored to fit around your busy life and work commitments. We'll create a partnership built on honesty and trust, where you feel supported every step of the way. My objective as a coach is to create an experience in which you, the runner, are the centrepiece of the coaching process, receiving guidance and support at every stage to help you meet your running, fitness, or race objectives.
My running journey began in secondary school and has shaped my life in incredible ways. During a school race, I had the fortune of meeting a passionate and inspirational local club coach who encouraged me to join the running club. Now, over 30 years later, I still connect with that coach and fully embrace the joy that running brings me. That pivotal moment launched me into a path of remarkable achievements, both individually and on a team with Aldershot, Farnham, and District AC, at the school level and nationally.
The social aspect of running has been just as powerful. I've formed lifelong friendships with like-minded individuals who share my passion and drive.
For the past decade, I have proudly been a member of Reading Roadrunners, where I have taken on the roles of club captain and coach for a dedicated group every Wednesday night. My love for running is unwavering, whether I’m racing on the roads during the season, tackling shorter distances, or pushing my limits with marathons.
